Jubilee exhibition "Studio of Vladislovas Neveravičius", Vilnius Picture Gallery, 2014 December 16 - 2015 March 15

(LDM) Vilnius Picture Gallery hosted an exhibition of the works of the famous nineteenth-century painter and representative of the Vilnius Art School Vladislovas Neveravičius "In the Studio of Vladislovas Neveravičius", dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the artist's birth.

The creative legacy of the artist of the Romantic era is scattered around the world. These are mainly portraits, portrait miniatures, paintings of religious content, compositions of the domestic genre, book illustrations, watercolours, etc. Eighteen paintings of the artist and one lithograph based on his painting are kept by the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce. These paintings were transferred by the Lviv Picture Gallery in 1959 by way of exchange. All the above-mentioned works are from the legacy of V. Neveravičius, written in his will to the Osolinskis National Foundation. They were kept in his studio until the artist's death. Among them are a number of etudes, incomplete compositions and portraits. This is what prompted the exhibition dedicated to the anniversary to be set up as if it were a studio.
