William Coxe

William Coxe (17 March 1747 — 8 June 1828) was an English churchman and historian who served as traveling companion and tutor to nobility from 1771 to 1786, and as vicar, subsequently rector and then archdeacon from 1786 until his death. His historical works and travel chronicles occupy numerous volumes.
