Adam Fritach (1608–1650) was a war engineer in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, physician, philosopher, and medical doctor. His work New Military Architecture was first published in Latin, in Leiden in 1631. It discusses choosing a location for fortifications and the different fortification design and building techniques. The book was repeatedly published in Latin, German, and French.
